Qualified, compassionate counselling by the coast

I am a qualified and National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) accredited therapeutic counsellor, based in the seaside town of Porthcawl, South Wales. I am deeply committed to providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever may be affecting your wellbeing.

Many people experience periods of anxiety, low mood, stress, or a sense of feeling stuck. Reaching out for support can be a significant step, and you deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to you as an individual. I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, and we work at your pace, with you in control of what you bring to each session. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of approaches informed by humanistic, relational, and existential principles. This allows our work to adapt to your needs, whether you are facing current challenges, exploring long-standing patterns, or processing experiences that may still be affecting you today.

Alongside my counselling work, I have experience supporting individuals with substance and alcohol dependency and addiction, as well as working with concerned family members, friends, and loved ones affected by the impact of addiction and substance use.

If you are considering counselling, you are welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation. This is an opportunity to ask questions and see whether working together feels right for you.

Areas of support

Counselling can help with many of life's challenges. Below are some of the areas I regularly work with, though this list is not exhaustive.

Anxiety & Stress

Understand the root of your anxiety and develop practical, lasting strategies to manage stress and restore a sense of calm.

Grief & Bereavement

Navigate the pain of loss at your own pace. Therapy offers a safe space to process grief without judgement or expectation.

Addiction & Recovery

Explore the patterns behind addictive behaviours and build a sustainable path towards recovery and self-understanding.

Depression & Low Mood

When life feels heavy, talking can help. Work through feelings of hopelessness and rediscover meaning and motivation.

Relationships & Divorce

Whether you are struggling within a relationship or processing a separation, counselling can help you find clarity and healing.

Life Transitions

Retirement, career change, parenthood or identity shifts — therapy can provide support during times of significant change.

Trauma & PTSD

Process difficult experiences in a safe, controlled environment and begin to rebuild your sense of safety and trust.

Self-esteem & Confidence

Challenge the inner critic and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself through reflective, supportive work.

What to expect from therapy

Every person is different, and so is every therapeutic journey. Here is how I typically work with clients.

Initial Conversation

A free, informal chat to understand what has brought you to counselling and to see if we are a good fit. No pressure, no commitment.

Building Trust

The early sessions focus on creating a safe, confidential space where you feel comfortable to speak openly and honestly.

Working Together

Through regular sessions, we explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns at a pace that feels right for you — with genuine care and without judgement.

Inspirational quote

The greatest discovery of any generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering the attitudes of their minds.
